Live, from New York: the adventure begins!

Portland, Maine International Jetport

Thank you, Jason, for the ride to the Portland Jetport.

The excitement started immediately upon arriving at the security screening area in Portland, Maine. Who would have guessed that a cell phone in a shirt pocket can set off alarms, and that the TSA Agents frown on passengers who don’t offer their boarding passes on request? These folks take their jobs very seriously. Fortunately, the contraband bottle of Purell made it through without incident.  Looking back, that one ounce bottle probably saved us from the Swine Flu Pandemic which would hit the country a few days later.

We boarded Jet Blue flight 605 destined for New York’s Kennedy airport. The first sights off the plane were the foot-massage ladies and the call girls selling high-end “eau de toillette”.

Our first adventure on this 12-day journey was to find a bite to eat at the concourse “Gourmet Market” before jetting off to Las Vegas.
